Marcellin Campus offers the HEAD START program in Year 10 for students looking to transition to Marcellin prior to beginning our Year 11 and 12 program. Marcellin offers two intakes into this program - one at the beginning of the school year and an intake at the commencement of semester two.
As part of the HEAD START intake, students at Marcellin are immersed into a rich program designed to both transition and inspire students as they seek to make informed choices about their future pathways. The program, through an immersion of 4 trade areas, enables students to explore options before committing to a Certificate II in a specific vocational pathway.
The key objective of our HEAD START program is to ensure that students develop key employability skills in literacy and numeracy, initiative and enterprise, collaboration, communication, flexibility, accessing and synthesizing information, self-managing as well as the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work.
In addition, the program encourages students to develop an appreciation of Catholic Faith formation in the Marist tradition through their studies in Spiritualities, Religion & Meaning. Attendance of Year 10 Reflection Day and participation in events on the liturgical calendar bring focus to the importance of faith and becoming leaders for the world God desires. These experiences and opportunities develop their technical knowledge and work ready skills and global citizenship.
